Yo guys! Socr4te’s here. After a long period of inactivity, I am FINALLY back on Mapskins with tons of news! I’ll take the opportunity to include kind of a “recap” of my older mods, since a lot of them aren’t working anymore/well because of the recent patches.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION : Due to my current real life occupation, I no longer have the time to update my Private WordPress daily. But because I really want to give you guys some news when I have the time to, I created a Facebook page that you can check out right now! It has some interesting things such as a tutorial to play on the League sandbox (and even the old Twisted Treeline!)

Averdrian, the Mind of Oblivion

After working on it for weeks, I finally managed to bring back a fully working version of Averdrian, the cancelled champion from 2010. If you don’t know anything about it yet, check out my older article : https://mapskins.online/2024/07/05/closed-beta-champions-skins/
Since you guys waited for so long, I have a few surprises that I wanted to share with you! :) Here we go :

N.B : I am currently working on custom voices for the champion, but because I spent a lot of time on the champion, I’ll release an early “beta” for the skin that’ll let you play him as a custom skin for Ryze or Veigar. Once I’ve received enough constructive feedback, I’ll finish & publish two special skins for him : Updated Averdrian (new colors, spells, icons, everything […] so he fits better to the new Summoner’s rift) / Heartless Averdrian (a custom made skin with new spells/icons/splash).

Proving Grounds

One month ago, I posted a trailer for the Proving Grounds map that me and Chewy were working on. It’s almost done, but some things are still preventing me from posting the map the way it is :
- The shopkeeper (Doran) is missing.
- The turrets change skins as they appear to you (out of fog of war)
- Nexus isn’t exploding correctly (probably won’t be fixed)
Should I post it like this anyway ? Tell me what you think!

Regarding my “original skins” mods

You probably noticed that I stopped updating my “original skins” mods for a while now. While I obviously don’t have time anymore to rename 50 files so they can be read by the game, I also lost interest in doing this kind of work as my knowledge in understanding League files grew. This is why I decided to announce it here so that no one will have to ask about it : I won’t update those mods anymore. I know that it sounds harsh, but I’ve noticed that a lot of people “resumed” my work and that’s why I’m not too worried about the future of those really special mods. I’ll also make a complete tutorial on how to make your own “original skins” pack, this way everyone will be able to play with their own “season 2/3/4” champions without having to wait for years :D
